Next Saturday at 13:00 Gallery Hlemmur will open a group exhibition at the Samfylkingin party’s electoral office at Lækjargata, Reykjavik. The exhibition is curated by Gallery Hlemmur and is a part of its service to companies and institutions.
Contemporary art plays a continuous role in the society today and an electoral office is therefore an interesting field for contemporary art. Although art is not partisan political it is in itself cross-political.
Gallery Hlemmur has been open in Reykjavik since 1999. From the beginning the focus of the gallery has been to introduce contemporary art. The exhibition will be presented on the gallery’s website, where information about the gallery and the artists can be found. The website is www.hlemmur.is.
