Friday 27th of June at 20:00 the
exhibition "Fame, I Wanna Live Forever"
will open in Gallery Hlemmur. The exhibition is a group exhibition of five
students, studying or newly graduated, from the Iceland Academy of the
Arts. Two students of the academy chose the works exhibited. The works in
the exhibition are made in various media's, such as sculptures, drawings,
paintings, collages and video. The artists exhibiting are Hildigunnur
Birgisdóttir, Hörn Harðardóttir, Lóa Hlín Hjálmarsdóttir, Ragnar Jónasson
and Tómas Lemarquis.
One of Gallery Hlemmurs policy is to support the interest of art students
and to create a field for their creativity and gain experience in curating
and managing cultural events.This exhibition is a part of this. This is
the first time that the gallery works with young people that are
graduating or have not yet finished their studies.
Gallery Hlemmur is open from Thursdays to Sundays between 14:00 -18:00 and
the exhibition is open until the 6th of July.
